“I write what I feel in the moment. Sometimes that’s a girly/pop song and sometimes that looks like a soft/rock ballad. At the end of the day, it’s really not that deep! If I like how a song sounds and it feels right to release, I’m going to release it. Making music is supposed to be FUN and sticking to a singular genre is so out.”
who is alyce?
ALYCE is an independent artist originally from Lancaster, Pa but now based out of Nashville, Tn. Currently going on year five of living in Nashville, she has developed a unique sound including aspects of genres such as pop, alternative/rock, and even country. Her single “Friend Not a Lover” represents her love of 90s alt/rock and is heavily inspired by modern-day alt queen Quinnie. Her single “Urban Cowboy” depicts years of Nashville-songwriting wearing off and derives inspiration from female-country icons Kacey Musgraves and multi-genre artist Taylor Swift. Consumer’s of music are encouraged to be well-versed, so why shouldn’t artists be encouraged to do the same with the music they create? Beyonce and Lana Del Rey are helping break the stigma and ALYCE wants to continue to do so as well.
